Many neighborhoods in downtown Seattle are within walking distance while other neighborhoods are easily accessible by public transit. Each ride on the bus or metro costs about $2.25-$3.00 depending on the zone. In about 48 hours, we were able to explore Seattle mainly by foot or public transportation with ease. We were able to meet up with my (Thien's) old college roommate for dinner at the end of our trip. Carley was kinda enough to drive us to Alki Beach and the airport.
Our itinerary:
Day 1- Arrived in Seattle
- Check into our AirBnB accommodation
- Dinner at Shiro's Sushi. It's the best sushi you'll have in the U.S. Be adventurous, sit at the sushi bar, and let the chef decide on your dinner for an omakase experience.
- Yoga at Be Luminous Yoga
- Brunch @ Lola. It's Tom Douglas's (3-time James Beard award winner) city when it comes to the restaurant industry. Lola is considered to be his greek child and serves up a mean mediterranean brunch.
- Seattle Center (Space Needle, Chihuly Garden & Glass, etc.)
- Oysters Happy Hour at Elliot's Oyster House (3-6pm daily). Great view, great food, fresh oysters.
- Seattle Great Wheel
- University District by University of Washington. Walk around to take in the vibrant college feel and shop at the many boutiques.
- Happy Hour at List. Happy hour means all items on the food list are half off. It's cozy and intimate. The food and drinks are fantastic!
- Lunch & light shopping downtown
- Savor Seattle Food Tour: Tour & History of Pike Market Place. I highly recommend this tour and will take about 2 hours. You will sample many great restaurants around pike and learn its rich history.
- Caught up with my old roommate with some happy hour at Maximilien. Another great happy hour to check out with a gorgeous water front view.
- Alki Beach to catch the sunset
- Red-eye back to Boston
We'd love to hear from you. What are your must-see places in Seattle?
